Staff Paper app good for
The app is pretty basic, does what it says it does. I love being able to print out Staff Paper whenever I want. Being able to customize the amount of staves, to what I need for the song Im writing, is really great. If you use Staff Paper, get this app! Save money! Its great for music teachers, for theory lessons, songwriters and composers.
Already pretty good, all that would need to be done is put another vertical line at the end to seal the staff.
I know Im probably almost the only one who finds this App definitely fantastic, but I had been looking for a similar one for a lot, and now... thats it! Thanks!
Some bad moments
Maybe its me? I cannot figure out how to use this. I just want an app that I can write out guitar parts on. Too tough to ask?
This app is great for what it does--provide free Staff Paper! Completely customizable, and you can print directly from your device, or email it to yourself, or to your musician friends. Never paying for Staff Paper again..
The interface is extremely simple. Just choose how many staves you want and hit "Email" or "Print." The email option is nice if youre not at home, and have to use another printer (like at school or an office) via a computer there.
Before I upgraded to iOS 4.2, I noticed the "print" button is not there. Im guessing this is why there are some one-star reviews (I cant think of any other reason). But there is no printing support before that version of the iOS! When I upgraded, the print button just showed up. So if you want to print, you basically have to get that version (or newer) of iOS. None of your apps can print without it (including this one).
Im actually on the hunt for some "virtual Staff Paper so I can start writing and storing sheet music directly on tthe ipad. Staff Paper seemed to offer an alternative solution by suggesting I just go back to using pencil and paper... Well, half of my problem is that my musical notation is rusty! The other half is that Im using an iPad which inherintly harbours a paperless sort of culture. And a sort of two percent of my confusion is how exactly the print button works. Something tells me its not air print, and even if it was, i dont have an air print printer which makes it all a bit pointless anyway. BUT, I have to give you the benefit of the doubt. Maybe my expectations were to high. Maybe proceedurally drawn Staff Paper lines have been long awaited by many a musician, and if that is the case, then this is a lovely app. I just, personally, am not looking for such a thing.
This works just great! Love it!!! So easy to use! Musicians... Get this app!
Thanks for this. Ive been waiting for someone to think of it. Now: could you make it so we can notate directly on the iPad? Why is there not a notation app yet? Is this a hard thing to create? Even if it is as simple as staff lines that you write on with your finger, drawing the notes by hand, the way you would on real paper.
